4000s TURBO diesel???

Nope, the VIN says 1983, which looks correct. WAUFH0817DA130726
translates into West Germany, Audi, type 81, 1983, Ingolstadt, chassis
nr. 130726. This is no 1987 in any way, it's just a 1983 type 81.. A
1987 build will be a "H", not "D" in the VIN. My V8 is a "L", which is
1990. For some reason (similarity with "1"?) they skipped the "I" in
the build year code.
