Sure, a custom IM could be built without too much work, but frankly I don't
believe its too big of a restriction compared to the stock exh. manifold.  I
ported my quite heavily in the lower runner area, and with the VR6 TB, the
manifold flows really well.  I wanted to prevent redoing my IC and all that
too, plus making a header to fit the stock IM means that it would work for
others without fabricating a new IM too.
