Brake hoses

Contrary to what you say, Jim, I think the DOT approval does matter.  Your
insurance company, always sticking by their prime directive of keeping as
much of your money as they can, will sieze on the presence of non-DOT
approved brake hoses as a perfectly legitimate excuse to keep it all,
cancelling your coverage retroactively to before whatever it was that
picqued their interest, like an accident.    I do a LOT of mechanical work
for a high end body shop, and I see the adjusters look for that kind of
stuff.  John
