Tail bulbs on Avant

Hi Listers,

I have just spent some time trying to figure out how to replace the bulbs i=
n the tailgate of my wife's A6Q Avant. The manual is not Avant-specific, bu=
t states that one must open the rear lid (trunk?! Not hatch...), unscrew th=
e interior trim panel to access the bulbs, etc...

The problem is that I only can find 4 screws around the perimeter - They ar=
e all Elizabeth's... Ups, Phillips, of course... and 2 under the inside hat=
ch release, which are torx, and after all 6 of these are out, I still can n=
ot "remove the trim by pulling at an angle" as the manual says to do.

Now I know that every do-it-yourself item on an Audi is very simple, so I m=
ust be doing something wrong. It does not take NEARLY this much effort to d=
o the front bulbs, markers, or tail lights.

Whassup? What am I doing wrong?
