Best All-Season on Snow?

There seem to be some very picky tire connoisseurs on this list, whom I do
not pretend to be able to match wits with when it comes to rubber (tires,
that is), but here's my cheapskate ¢2:
My '90 100 nonQ (#3) was put on Cooper Lifeliner Classic II, and I adored
those tires. Wow, excellent grip in snow, wet or dry! Loved it - now, 'mind
you - I have not tracked ANY of my Audis - yet. Just did a little backroad
pushing of the limits, as well as 25mph offramps at 70.
Bought my 1St V8 (#5), and was devastated to find that I could not get the
lifeliners in the correct size. OK, try the Cooper Cobra GT's then. I did,
and was definitely not disappointed. Well, the first winter was on nearly
slick summer performance Yokohamas. Never did like them, but then again,
they were nearly slick when I bought the car. Quite impressive, though, what
the Quattro (my 1St Q) was capable of, even with totally warn out tires,
during a VERY heavy snowfall.
2Nd winter on the Cobras - WOW Nothing could stop me now! Those tires stuck
like glue to the pavement, whether wet or dry, and trudged through the worst
snowbanks and carpets I could find. Two of my neighbors and I set out one
evening to see if we could possibly get the big beast stuck. We could, but
not until we were so high in a bank, that the wheels no longer had contact
with the ground.
After a short dig, and as soon as the wheels again had contact with the
planet, the car unstuck itself in reverse!
Now I've been in my 2Nd V8, and my 2Nd Q (#7) for about 3 weeks, and it's on
Fulda tires. So far I am not impressed. As a matter of fact, if anyone wants
a brand new set.... Well, maybe I should give it a little while. They may
grow on me - hopefully before the car shrinks on me, due to the lack of grip
in the tires...
My wife's A6 Quattro Avant (#6) is long overdue for new skins, and they will
be Coopers!
