radiator fan howling

You don't expect the problem to go away entirely do you? Just with a bit of
spray...........
You might have a bad bearing and that will only be cured with a new fan or a
replacement bearing, (something not that easy to do).

OK,

Anyway, the intermittent howling coming from my 89 90q has been narrowed
down to the radiator fan.  Is it safe for me to spray some silicon grease
into the fan motor to see if this eliminates the problem?
