Does Audi Recognize the 5000?

The Fox/4000/5000 designations were only for the North American market
in the 70s and 80s.  Starting in 1988 Audi unified the North American
model designations to match the European market.

Audi did not ever sell a TDI engine based model in the US market.
It would be very difficult to source such an engine, and it won't be
legal since none of the Euro engines are certified for US emissions.
