This cannot be emphasized enough. As Javad says, treat the knock sensor
as a safety device.

Well, the MAC11 code seems to be buggy and actually retard all cylinders.
Certainly, comparing it with later code, there are ovbvious bugs fixed
as well as a change in strategy in detecting knock, regardless of the switch
to two knock sensors.
