just got my 86 5kt out of the shop, i was experiencing a rough idle when
coming to a stop and when i initially put the car in drive.
my problem was a large split on the bottom of (michelin man hose) intake
manifold to intercooler. My mechanic also adjusted co value. Previous to
this i use to have vapour lock and dirty fuel injectors causing idle
problems. I used chevrons techron (concentrate) to clear up that issue works
great and i put a bottle in before each oil change. The other problem was at
high ambient temperatures vapour lock would occur because the t'stat for
fuel injection cooling fan was not coming on at times, so i replaced t'stat
and installed a switch on my dash so i could manually control it via
override during stop and go traffic ( this works great for high temp
issues).

A little update on my stalling when cold and coming to a
stop/rough idle prob. It seems that the car "acts" up
here and there (1 out of 4 cold starts) the other times
it is just fine. In fact, when it is acting up I can
turn the ignition off and then right back on it most
likely will run properly.
So knowing this, I have a(nother) "quick" question about
my rough idle and stalling problem:
My next steps on solving this problem was to either be
to replace the breather hose or the o2 sensor. Would
either of these replacements likely be causing an
intermitenent problem like I am having? Should I be
looking somewhere else (wires, plugs, cap, rotors)?
TIA
