fault code 2141

Hey list,
  Recently I had been getting the check engine light when under load. I ran
the fault codes and got code 2141. I've been running 89 octane. I put 91 in
today and it hasn't done it yet. I was nearly on empty when this
happened...could that affect it? I don't want to run 91 octane just to cover
up a real problem, so do you guys have any BTDT's?
