5ktq Chirp - Birds under the hood?

Hi all,
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried some suggested tests:
1. Baby powder on the belts - sure did make the engine bay smell nice, but
did not change the chirp.
2. Pull the dipstick (check for main seal leak) - no change to chirp, it was
still as loud as before.
I'm going to replace the alt belt with a proper one from Audi (they gave me
the wrong one, and the Gates was the only one I could get in a pinch).
Should that not scare the birds away, then it just may be the water pump
that is the next to be blamed. The sound is definately coming from the
front of the engine, and appears to be at the level of the front bumper.
Cheers, and thanks for the assistance.
