Howdy! Finally after a few weeks of waiting we got to pick up mum's new
'01 Allroad. She grabbed it for $48k total with all taxes and such, some
$3500 under listed value. I was surprised because this specific Allroad is
loaded (unlike the others we looked at), I think it's got every option
except navigation and tiptronic. It's black, black/gray leather scheme, 6
speed, premium package, convenience package, 17" dual spoke wheels, and even
a ski bag (the '02 models don't have this). I am quite impressed in the fit
and finish of the whole car, body panel gaps don't seem to exist. It looks
really sharp except for those Audi 80 style primed bumpers. Sounds pretty
subdued out those dual tailpipes, though haven't driven it, yet:)

Now the 200q20v becomes Alex's responsibility, just what I need another
mess to clean up. On the ride home it was making the oddest noises and
vibrations, sounded like a small child was trapped in the dash and was
screeching at 3k rpm, very strange and totally new to me. Though magically
it pulls 1.7 bar again, used to go to 1.5 bar and stop unless in 5th. Maybe
if I sell all my old turbo engine bits and sell lots of europarts I can
focus on the 200 a bit. I may tinker with it over this break from college,
but hopefully I won't have the time, praying my old boss at the car shop
needs me for a few weeks. It still goes like stink and burns the pants of
Taurus wagons, ask me how I know:)

Tomorrow we christen the allroad with some champagne (sister dropped a
bottle of champagne on mum's brand new '92 100S a few days after she picked
it up, most trouble free car mum ever owned, so we've gotten superstitious,
but no denting this time).

Cheers!
