I've never seen anyone accuse the wastegate support of doing any actual _harm_ - so if you want to fit one, go ahead.  A bit like
copper or magnetic bracelets for rheumatism.  It complicates procedures a little, but not a lot.

The twin brackets you sometimes find on early WRs, though ...
