Can anybody help with Range Rover 4.2

Could be a couple of things. The older motors ('93-95) had valve guide
problems, mostly limited to the 4.0L, but I think the 4.2 also had some
problems. However, his first step should be to replace plug wires. This
solved the problem on my '95 LWB.
