I'm looking for information on building a tachometer that uses a hall effect
sensor. What I want to do is put a small magnet on a rotating device and
have the hall effect device sense the rotation with some electronics to
drive a led (preferred) or LCD readout of rpm. If you know of some web sites
or books I could look into to help. Of course nixies would be the best of
all but....

I have no experience with any of these counter/timer IC's so I'm looking for
the cookbook approach.
