Larry,
Take the long term approach. Someone will lease that
car today. In three years it comes off lease, to be
scooped up by a new owner, who performs the required
maintenance and keeps it for three more years. Then
it is sold again, the new buyer paying full retail.
But they can't afford to maintain it, and put it up
for sale after two years.
That's were we come in. Eight years from now you
will be able to pick up that neglected S6 Avant for
about $15K. Of course, it will need a timing belt,
and the suspension bushings will be shot, and the
driver's seat heater won't work, and the CC will
sometimes go flakey. And you'll want to replace the
Bose speakers, and fix the driver's window that
won't go up, and ...
I can't wait. Make mine pearlescent white with a
black interior.
Happy Holidays,
