driveshafts, calipers, & grease: some 4kq questions

volk-

well, my 86 4kq is temporarily a little more feminine, she is missing her
exhaust cat-back and driveshaft. : )

coupla questions:

1. how much CV grease do i put in the "dish" parts of where the driveshaft
bolts up (the part on the car, not teh part removed)? fill it up flush with
the edges of said "dish"? also, i just use regular CV grease, right? no fancy
high temp, specialized stuff? and, how do i grease that funny zyrk (sp?)
fitting in the center bearing? also, any BTDTs on attaching this new
driveshaft? i spraypainted over the old one to mark where the flanges bolt
up, any other advice?

2. is there any sort tolerance for the return springs of rear calipers? ie,
is it ok if banging the return springs with a hammer produces a few more mm
of return on the springs? or should they always return fully on their own? i
think i already know the answer to this question, and my wallet is cringing.
anyone have some new 4kq rear calipers they want to unload? or pads (front
and rear) or rotors (front and rear), since those will be done soon as well.

3. who has a good source for new rear calipers for am 88 90q and an 86 4kq? i
would go rebuilt but a few people have advised against this, saying rebuilts
have not lasted or worked well for them.

thanks to everyone who continues to help me with my ailing audis, especially
huw, without whose help and guidance i would still be paying a silly mechanic
to do things to my cars.
