I completely agree with Brett.

If you have a need to be notified quickly on internet security issues,
and this applies to UNIX dweebs like me too, you can subscribe to an
emergency notification mailing list put out by Carnegie Mellon University:

To subscribe to the CERT mailing list for advisories and bulletins,
send email to majordomo at cert.org. Please include in the body of your
   message

   subscribe cert-advisory

They also have a web site that has all the bulletins online:

    http://www.cert.org/

I highly recommend that you investigate CERT. Most of the major vendors
recommend them for problem notification and tracking. I know they are
recommended by Sun Microsystems. Who knows about Microsoft's outlook.
If you use Microsoft stuff, you deserve what you get.

Many times CERT will have information on a problem before Symantec (Norton)
or McAfee have put anything out.
