Listers,
Spent the morning out in the snowy driveway trying to pin down the possible
culprit...
The only thing I came up with for sure is that if I disconnect the
differental pressure regulator the car runs smooth and has no power
loss/backfiring. Could the DPR be the culprit or is it a coverup for anothe=
r
system that is not functioning correctly? Can I drive the car with the DPR
disconnected or is this a no-no? Will the car run too lean/rich with it
disconnected?
I don't have a multimeter to confirm if the DPR is good or not. I should
probably pick one up in the next couple of days. Any suggestions on a good
one?
I also assume that the backfiring must be caused by a lean mixture? Should =
I
now turn to other parts of the fuel injection or continue to look into such
other suggestions as a slipped timing belt, vacum leaks, etc...
By the way, what would be the proper way to confirm that the timing is in
specs without any fancy equipment?(read: shadetree mechanic/lack of tools)
Thanks for all the help guys...
