Besides finding a good shop for the installation, let me add that I've
experienced a significant difference in the quality of cheap glass
compared to expensive glass.  You've got to get other people's words
on which brands of glass are best, but I'll tell you a short tale of
cheap glass performance.

About a year ago, I bought a '96 Dodge Ram pickup.  Part of the deal
buying it was that the previous owner replace the windshield which was
very sand pitted.  I'm sure he went for the least expensive glass he
could find.

This summer I had it in Alaska for a month, with lots of dirt and gravel
roads.  Almost every small stone that hit the windshield left a chipped
spot.  Two years ago I had a new Dodge Ram on most of the same Alaskan
roads and didn't pick up a single windshield chip even though there were
plenty of small rocks that bounced off the windshield.
