I just put a right axle shaft in my brothers 88 5000 Wagon last night. Took me

2 hours from start to finish with a jack and a heavy Radio Shack 5' antenna pole

(for prying down the control arm). The axle I took out was a rebuilt one with a
bad CV
joint because of a ripped CV boot . This shaft was installed two years ago
new. The
one I put in was a Audi shaft from my old 86 5000 wagon (boots real good).
This leads me to believe that the rebuilt axles also do not use as good a boots
as Audi does.
