Scott,
So if there are so many benefits to Aftermarket Boost Controllers
(hereafter: ABC) and they're so much more advanced than the WGFV system
that Audi used (is using), then how come the of the four autos listed in
your sig, the only one equipped with an ABC is the only non-Audi
vehicle?
Even back in 1997, (reference your post "Cracking Manifolds... er
Wastegates" of 15-Sept-1997 -- entire msg @
http://www.audifans.com/archives/1997/09/msg01335.html) you were
advocating the use of the ABC's as the next step beyond a simple spring
upgrade on the 10v MC engines.
Sept-97> My suggestion on MC motors: Get the heavier spring.
Sept-97> If you can afford it, go with the HKS boost pressure

But I don't recall hearing any conversation regarding testing or results
you've had with the utilization of ABC's on the Audi I-5 engines. Yet
you continue to tout their ability to reduce wastegate cracking, improve
driveability, and cure the common cold.
And you conclude that Sept-1997 email with the advice that:
Sept-97> That dumb spring just seems to look better and better
Sept-97> in the grand scheme of things when modding the
Sept-97> computers on audi turbocars.
Then you conclude today's email with:

I guess my question is this: if the ABC's are the great solution you
claim, why aren't you running them in any of your _Audis_?
I'm just trying trying to process conflicting advice from the original
self-proclaimed turbo nerd. And it's making my head hurt.

Now, where my Nomex? I has a feeling it's gonna get warm down here!
