(suttle?) signs my transmission is dying

That big piece with the teeth is definitely part of a synchro. ring.  The
question is, where is the rest of it?

Well, I changed my tranny oil today in the hopes that maybe there was some
dirt or other "stuff" that may have been binding in the case causing the
grinding I'm getting when shifting into 3rd and 4th...

Naturally, one of the parts of an oil change job is draining the old stuff
out....
Here's what came out my drain plug:

"stuff" indeed!  One of the chunks was so damn big I can read part of a part
number off it!!!!!  Does "295A" mean anything to any tranny specialists out
there?  I think I'll take a flip through TFA to see if I can find where my
mystery part came from.  My guess is #3 syncro.

So it's definately not a question of "if" but rather "when"..
