Nope, mine died about 2 weeks ago.  My 1983 Coupe popped out of reverse gear while
backing out of my snow covered driveway, I put it back in and held it ignoring the
nasty crunching, banging, grinding noises as the car kind of occasionally moved
backwards.
Definitely something mechanical went in a big way, possibly the reverse idler gear
is missing some teeth.
I doubt if the rest of the car is worth the time and expense of fixing so I
haven't decided what to do with it yet.  A mechanic friend of mine told me he's
seen the same or similar thing happen to a 4000.
