free breathing slots to primp up car

Does anyone know the composition & working characteristics of the plastic
body molding used to make the front cover bumper skins on 1992-1997 (&
perhaps most all similar year models) Audi UrS4/6's?
I'm considering the wisdom &/or necessity of trying to add additional "free
breathing" air flow slots to the front of the bumper to expose, and capture
more airflow for cooling through the front of the car.
Any tips, tricks or BTDT experience on the advisability of either or all of
(1) cutting, (2) sawing, (3) sanding, (4) router (5) drilling or (6)
otherwise (?? hot wire cutting) adding slots - say two or three rows of @
3/8ths" to 1/2" tall by @ 3&7/8ths to 4" long - in the vertical portion of
the bumper cover beginning and ending @ 4-5" on either side of where the
standard front license plate goes would be appreciated. About half the area
on this particular model is "painted" to match the body color, the other
half is textured (i.e. slightly rough or bumpy) black rubber looking, but I
believe made of the same material as the smooth painted portion of the
surface.
I.e if drilled or cut, does this material tend to chip or crack, etc.?
Mike
PS - Yes, I realize I'm risking being only two letters away from having
sluts to pimp up the car :-)
