I acquired an 88 CS5000 Turbo a few months ago. I love it, except the hard
starting was really beginning to bug me. Lately is had gotten to the point
that almost every single time I needed to start, cold or hot, it would act
up. Once started it runs fine. I've read many suggestions in this list on
this topic, but its so darn cold here now I haven't gotten around to doing
anything. Anyway, one day I decided to try something different. Part
throttle, no throttle, half throttle and full throttle all yielded about the
same results. I then tried lifting up on the gas pedal while starting. WORKS
GREAT!!. Has started every time, immediately, for the past 2 weeks in
everything from my garage to -8 degrees F outside. I know this solution
suggests something else must be amiss. Just wondering if anyone else has had
similar experience or suggestions on what to look for.
