Which new Audi is best, and why?

Brian,
I disagree on a few accounts,
First off. The V8 and 2.7t do NOT look the same. The V8 has
an entirely new front clip from the Firewall forward.
Integrated with this is a wider track, flared fenders (front and
back) and a slightly longer nose. In my opinion the 4.2 looks
much better, a very agressive car. Except I love the 2.7t
engine, especially modified.
As for blowing turbo's, on a chipped 1.8t you can easilly
exceed the limits of the small turbo. Some turbo's also had a
wastegate problem. However, this is rare. Most Audi turbo cars
since mid - 1985 (when they went water cooled)have turbo's that
last very long. I've seen some go well past 300k miles. And
many 1.8t's with over 100k miles and no problems yet. And as for
the Auto holding boost between shifts, WHY. With a proper shift
the 6-speed does fine. Thats more the job of the bypass valve.
Do you think the Tip shifts faster somehow, or by slipping
maintains boost. I've never watched a tip shift that had a
boost gauge but the 6-speed is Definately more "fun" IMHO. But
if its for the wife, the tip is an Excellent vehicle that is
still very capable, so it may be a more viable option than a
6-speed. :-)
Sigh....the concessions we make for loved ones. :-)
Anyhow, thats what I think.
