Melted Floor Mat - Help

I've never heard it discussed here on the list, but it seems to me that team door handle also designed the floor mats. Apparently brake fluid (say dripping from a leaky clutch master down the pedal) will collect in the floor mat over time, and soak into the foam rubber pad of the mat, and melt it. The gloppy rubber-oil mess is then stuck to the plastic pad that's sewn into the actual floor carpet.

So, anyone KNOW OF A SOLVENT THAT WILL REMOVE THE MELTED FLOOR MAT RUBBER from the carpet pad without damaging the rubber carpet pad?

And, for those of you who say "I'll get around to that clutch MC sometime-- it only drips once in a while", well, that stuff is going somewhere, and it's melting your floor mat, only to make a bigger mess later...

THanks,
