Mysterious oil leakage? 87 5ktq

I have no idea where it's coming from.  Maybe someone
has had experience with this.  Fire up the ol' Audi,
drive it around for about 15 mins or so, then I start
to smell a light scent of burning oil.  Open up the
hood, and I can see a tiny cloud coming from the rear
of the engine, and also between the air box and the
block.  Here are the things I have already checked
out:

1) Valve cover gasket- replaced it twice, didn't stop
the problem.
2) H/P oil lines.  I hose clamped all of the famed
crimped connections.  Cannot find any leaking from
them.
Right now I am at a loss.  I'm driving an 86 4KS until
a solution to the problem can be found.  Can anyone
help me?  Thanks a million.
