How do I remove and replace door mirror on 93 90CS

The Audi mirrors are attached by a retaining ring that must be rotated to
release 3 or 4 mounting tabs.

The access is gained either through the tiny hole in the bottom of the
mirror or by pushing the mirror all the way up and ever so gently poking
between it and the frame. A delicate touch and experimenting on the mirror
to be replaced is in order.
