87 5KCSTQA strange lighting behavior

Recent phenomenon. I'm driving along at dusk, want to turn on the lights.
Move switch to accustomed position, nothing. Move switch many times with no
effect. No dash lights, no nothing. Cure is to stop, turn off vehicle, move
switch. Everything now works. Happened 3 times now. 
Any ideas?
