Very interesting subject................
You probably WILL not be able to easily fit that alt. on your car since it
is a "converted" 110AMP alt., which has a different configuration than the
90AMP alt. (Just a small disclaimer to the last statement: Audi made a few
90AMP alt. in 110 housing alt................but most of them are 110AMP.

My conversion of an 110AMP alt. will give you 150AMP, See below.

You can put in an 110AMP conversion alt. but you will need a bracket to go
with it.

For your information, I made quite a few alt. for list members, for the
following cars: Audi 5K, 4K, 80, 90, V8, S4, VW Jetta, Golf, Alfa Romeo,
Biturbo, Ferrari, De Loren, Volvo, and a few more photos are also available.

For your car I suggest a 90AMP converted to 130AMP with a 14.8VR. This alt.
(see below) will fit your car with no modification or any kind (no new
mounting brackets), direct exchange!
See below all the wonderful information and yes it has a 1Year warranty+ and
more......................

* 130AMP alternator that is a converted 90AMP Bosch alternator
* The stator winding is increased to allow for 130AMP delivery
* The voltage regulator (new) is 14.8Volt, (std. regulator is 14Volt)
* New bearings all through
* 1-year warranty
* Clean rebuilt alternator
* No need for any new additional brackets, fits exactly the same way as your
old alternator did
* No more draining the batt. with the after run fans and those "ungodly"
Euro lights (didn't you always want 400Watt lights?)
* You get the alternator and than turn in your old alternator (for core)
* Overseas requests are welcome (shipping will be extra), no core will be
requested for overseas shipping
* I don't care if your alternator (for core purpose) is working or not, just
that the body is not damaged
* Detailed step-by-step instructions for installation
*
* I Get:
* $195 Alt. 130Amp
* 15 Shipping, extra for overseas
* Your old alternator or $20 (for core purpose), which ever you choose

prefer the alt. up to you though)
* If you so desire, send two checks and I will hold the core check for two
weeks or till I get your alt.

Let me know.....
Take care,

Subject: Shoehorn a 2.3l Alt from an 80 onto a 4kq?

This possible?

I just won a
"THE ALTERNATOR IS A REMAN BOSCH HEAVY DUTY 140AMP 14.5V ,IT GOES ON AUDI
80/90
    SERIES 2.3L ENGINE THE YEARS ARE FROM 1985 TO 1991,AND REPLACES THE
90AMP MODEL
    ALTERNATOR ,COMES WITH 12MONTHS WARRANTY"

With a link to a pic here:

So, the question....How do I get this in to my little 4kq?
Does it mount right up or do I have to go rip up a 90?
