Peter,
Dahlback's setup may be different from what is used in stock applications,
I have no idea. With that half-million dollar Golf, I'm sure they check
things on it constantly so it may not be an issue.

I can tell you that the valves do not last years and years and years on
the following engines:
Audi I-5 2.22L 20v turbo
Porsche I-4 2.5L 8v turbo (951, 951S)
Audi I-4 1.8L 20v turbo
Audi V-6 2.7L 30v twin turbo

This is a _well known_ phenomenon.

In all of these applications, the valves do not last. The Bosch valve is
cheap and readily available. Solutions such as the Forge and Bailey valves
are very expensive boutique items. I do not know what they do for endurance
races such as Le Mans. Maybe EF can shed some light on endurance racing.
