Why isn't he using the Audi part? Doesn't TWO failures tell you
something?

The Big Red Bus uses bolts, not nuts.  Audi's bearing kit includes a
new waisted bolt each time - I strongly suspect (from the torquing
instructions) that it's a stretch bolt like the cylinder head bolts.
