In one of my "other lives" I am also legal counsel to the Vintage VW Club of
America. I forwarded Per's post to them earlier today. I also think that Japan
is the likeliest destination for the body if it has, indeed, been purloined.
Hopefully, it will turn up. Hebs are not common, so if it turns up as a
completed vehicle or is offered as "parts" the Vintage VW community will know.
If anyone within reach of this message has any Japanese VW connections, I hope
they will keep alert as well. There are only a few Hebuellers remaining, as the
factory was destroyed by fire in 1950, and they are truly unique and
irreplaceable vehicles. Tom Donohue
