Why is Europe so fond of diesels?

The new VW/Audi TDi is so good, that it was honestly a real hard decision
for me when I went to buy a new car this year. Believe it or not, I had a
nard time deciding between the new Audi S4 and the Jetta TDi. It's a little
hot rod, and has a lot of potential.

The dealer made the decision for me: either $1000 over sticker for the TDi
or $1000 over invoice for the S4.

After having driven the neu-S4 for 15,000 miles and having fallen in love
with it, I still can't get the idea out of my head of screaming around Lime
Rock at a Q-club driver's school in a Jetta TDi with a computer chip, 17"
wheels, and a decent sport suspension (and BIRA brakes, of course). I'd
still love to have one.

Go drive the 5-speed TDi. You'll like it.
