I'll second the vote that VAG-COM is the "coolest thing since sliced bread"
For those who haven't seen it go to HTTP://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com.
Doesn't work on my 89 90q (which only does blink codes) but has helped me
diagnose a bad throttle switch on my 90 Passat and a bad ABS unit on my
parents 95 Passat.  If you have a VAG car that is newer than 1990 you will
benefit greatly from it.  The author, Uwe is pretty cool and answers alot of
questions by phone and in his VAG-COM Egroup (now Yahoo Groups).
