The Audi Gods hate me

Depends on how you look at it, Burl. It can be a chance to get some
unexpected exercise and you will feel so happy when you finally have
transportation again. Think of this as a brief vacation from your normal
patterns of getting around.
In the past few years, my 87 5kcstq blew the hoses off the oil cooler at 60
mph and dumped 5 quarts in about 10 seconds. Got a clean used one on it
now. All 4 wheel bearing have been swapped, as well as the center support
bearing of the drive shaft. And the clutch and the bomb and the rack and
the blower motor and the door handles and the window switches. And the
struts and the rear upper transverse control arms, and the trapezoidal arm
bushings and some rear calipers and e-brake cable. And the exhaust
hanger/casting from the tranny. And LOTS of other stuff.
I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to serve The Audi Gods as they use
my skills to bring new life to this fine car. And I am overjoyed that they
let me drive it between the renovation tasks.
They don't hate us.....they have chosen, yes _anointed_ us(with used motor
oil) to a leadership role in saving these cars from the normal ravages of
age and service. Only the strong and the talented get such an opportunity,
as no others could survive the challenge.
Be of good cheer, and welcome to this brotherhood of like souls. Excuse me,
my keeper is tugging at my restraints..........catch you later when I can
get away again.........

What have I done to anger them?
First, all the wheel bearings on the 5000, then the tranny goes
on the Coupe, then the fuel leak and numerous hot start problems
on the 5000. (still chasing the last one)
Yesterday I get the last wheel bearing changed and the airplane
is no longer following me.
Today it springs a huge oil leak. I crawl under the car and find
a crack in the oil cooler, great, ok, I'll just loop a line back
and bypass the cooler for now. Nope, both lines are rusted and
crack causing oil to spray everywhere when I test it out.
Too cold for the motorcycle, guess I'm bumming rides.
