3B INTO AN URq

The 951 IC will fit, but it's really tight, but remember the 951 is thicker
instead of dimensionally bigger.. To get more room, move the alternator to
the drivers side, using alt bracket parts off a 4kq.

The stock IC can't handle much before heat soaking, even with the stock wx
turbo. The k24 heat soaks quickly, even without chipping.

Other options to consider is the RS2 IC, or changing the front crossmember
and putting one behind the grill.

Hi Bob,
I have an urq with a 3B and I currently use a stock urq intercooler. The
IC-intake hose appears to bolt right up to the 3B intake, but I did not do
the install, so there may have been some massaging I do not see. I'll be
happy to send you a few pics if it will help. Works fine up to about 10psi
at which point heat soaking becomes a problem. High boost launches (20+psi)
can shoot the inlet air temp reading from ~75F to ~140F in less than 10
seconds-scary. I'm currently picking a few folks' brains about
ugrades-probably going to go with a Porsche 951 unit which should be more
than adequate. Steve Eiche knows a lot about this and has given me much
helpful info. Incidentally, the stock unit has "1.5 bar" etched on the
bottom-at least it doesn't misrepresent itself!
