AofA call

Hi Y'all,

A while back during one of the list's frequent discussions concerning
spraying fuel lines, etc., I forwarded some of the comments from list
members (after stripping out identifiers so that the author could remain
incognito) to Audi.de. I expressed concern over the potential for another
unintended acceleration scenario.

This morning I received a call from AofA in response to this contact. The
call was responding to what they thought was _my_ fuel line leak
problem. It appears to me that what I sent was not carefully read by the
powers-that-be.

Concerning the fuel line leaking problem it appears that AofA now realizes
that there is a problem and that if anyone is still having dealer problems
over the required repair that AofA will provide assistance if you call them.

At any rate, I had a nice conversation with the young lady who
called. During the conversation I mentioned that there was a perception
that the US market is not getting the "nice cars, the ones with higher
power levels and manual transmissions". She laughed and asked about the
S8. I asked if it could be gotten with a manual transmission. Her
response was "the American market wants automatic transmissions". I told
her that only _some_ of the market wants automatic transmissions.

Oh well...

She also told me "There will be some VERY nice cars coming over next
year. I can't tell you about them at this time but keep watch over the
Audi web site".

Bob
