Drive shaft Rebalance!? Nah!!!!
I put a piece of tape across all connections - cv joints - U-joint . .and
spray paint(grey primer) over the tape . . .that leaves a line for later
alignment. You can use different colored paint on each joint to avoid later
confusion. You can also use a punch to mark mating connections . .. just in
case the paint comes off later during cleaning. If you want, you can also
mark the CV-joint/Drive flange connections. Pays to be careful.
The CV-joints also need to be punched or marked internally for later
reassembly . . . . I wont go into that . .I think its covered in sufficient
detail in the Bentley.
Reassembling CV joints can get pretty hairy if you have'nt done it before .
.. they actually go together a lot easier backwards . . . only to seize up
on you real fast if you install them in the car that way.
I take a tranquilizer before I reassemble cv joints . . . . . . keeps me
veeeeeery caaaaaalm . . . .shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . . . . .I'm working on a
joint now . . . . . . .errrrr CV joint
