This URL shows a connector for the older Audis. He also indicates that you
can make a connector but that he doesn't want to deal with home-made
connectors that don't work. He therefore doesn't make a schematic available.

Does the PC need to be isolated from the car or what are the hazards of
connecting directly to the serial port?
