A6 ignition issues

Not familiar with the A-cars, but my 200q20v frequently won't allow
ignition key turning unless the steering wheel lock's pressure on the
system is relieved by turning the steering wheel slightly one direction or
the other. And I assume "Baby" has a slushbox. Someone on the V8 list
recently had an issue with not being able to extract the key without
putting extra pressure forward on the shiftlever even though it was in
Park, and someone else reported there is some sort of cable between the
transmission linkage and the ignition lock that can be adjusted to
alleviate such problems.
