the warning on the 5-minute period is valid for all 20vti5's of which i'm
aware (aan, rr, aby, adu).

following is the table from the manual which explains the values. as i've
said some of these changes for later motors and motronics. following is for
the 3b/rr.

1. 184-215	current engine temperature (i.e. 80-105c) - precondition for all
other displays/specified values
2. 20-25	current engine load - with a/c off, without electrical consumers
3. 77-83	current engine speed (i.e. 770-830rpm) - with a/c off, without
electrical consumers
4. 121-135	operating range - isv - change in air capacity via isv valve
5. 80-125	isv characteristic 0 point - internal calculated value
6. 123-137	isv - load adjustment- change in air capacity via isv valve
7. 41-55	isv characteristic curve control - internal calculated value
8. 123-133	lambda control (0.5-0.9 vol %) - after approx 1.5 mins
9. 115-141	lambda adaption - if display high, carry out road test again
10. 35-37	current ignition angle (i.e. 8-12 deg btdc) - ignition angle
calculated by motronic

based on the numbers you posted, lambda seems ok. to check, remove the
connector and check voltage with ignition on. it should be 450 +/ 50mv.

Hmm. Didn't notice this...are you sure this isn't something specific
to the UrQ/RR? I'll check in the Bently more closely though.
Basically, I let the car warm up to the point where it hit(and
stayed) within the range recommended for channel 1, motor
temperature. I don't think it ever topped 200.

I drove the car home and letting it idle for several minutes while I
played with VAG-COM; a little while later after pulling the valve and
cleaning it out, I started up the car again and recorded a few
values, they should be tab delimited and CR/LF'd at the end.
