Hey all,
It has been quite some time since I have had to post the list. I guess
that's a good thing really. Well last night, while I was doing a routine
oil change change on my 88 90Q, the worst thing possible happened. As I was
torquing down the drain plug it suddenly slipped and just gave out. I
couldn't believe it. I have almost always tightened the nut using the
torque wrench. Then I figured it might be due to the fact the car has had
seventy-odd oil changes in its life. I stuck my pinky in the drain hole and
pulled out some tiny metal threads. I am not on the distribution list at
the time, so if anyone has a good dolution on how to fix this, please email
me driectly. My friend said that this topic had been discussed quite a bit
recently on the list. He also said at Pepboys you can get a kit that will
regrind the oil pan a new thread and it comes with a bigger plug Is this
the best way?
I really appreciate anyone who can help.
TIA,
Mike Robinson
