V8 engine problems

I didn't see this hit the main list, so I'm reposting...sorry if it's a
duplicate.

There is a 1990 V8 sedan local to me that I might consider purchasing,
either to fix for my father, or part out.

According to the owner, the "crankshaft pulley bolts backed out".  He
says he has not had the engine checked out, and does not know if there
was intereference.  This in an interference engine, right?  What would
it cost to have the heads rebuilt?  What are decent used ones running?

Am I nuts?  Its a 90,000mi car, with sport interior, asking $2500.  I
figure even if I have to put $2000 into new heads, it might not be a bad
deal...
