Silencer damaged by bad doughnuts

This post was from back in '98.  Does the info still apply?  Have 
people had bad experiences with the chain reinforced exhaust 
hangers?

I just went ahead and ordered a bunch (6) of chain ones, I hope 
they work out.  These will be for my 5kcstq.
