1.5 bar on boost gauge?

My 1990 200 TQ will show 1.7 BAR for about half a second, in first and
second gear, before hitting the cutout. It will stay at 1.6 BAR for about 5
seconds, in any other gear, before cut-out, or cruise all day at 1.5 BAR.
All BAR values are as indicated on the instrument panel, the waste-gate has
been shimmed and I've installed a bypass valve. No chip yet.
To get these levels up from the 1.3 BAR that the car would show when I first
bought it, I've replaced the 'Michelin Man' hose, several breather hoses,
two vacuum lines, both hoses to the waste-gate, two temperature senders, the
oxygen sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, WOT switch, re-wired all
engine grounds, new fuel injectors, new fuel/air filters, use Mobil1 oil,
three containers of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner, rebuilt the
alternator...
I'm gonna stop that list... yeesh! However, it's running really well now
and I must say that more power will be nice but get it up to full stock
performance first. The by-pass valve is a good next step because it will
save your intercooler and turbo when you do decide to up the boost more!
