Auto X (sac)

I don't know much about autocrossing, but around these parts (Vancouver
BC) it seems like the best and cheapest way to get into racing. Im just
curious for people opinions about this sport, the classes, how to get
into it. The cars they use/like and modifications that have to be made
etc.

Right now I am in between cars, I just sold my MR2 turbo which would
have been a decent auto-x car, but it just had too many problems and
wasn't a good time for to be owning it. I am considering a bunch of cars
for a bunch of different reasons. No flames please, im a huge car nut
and I have my reasons for liking every car I list. First off, Integra
GSR, its newer, fairly cheap, pretty decent power and its reliable,
japanese, BUT its FWD, and I don't know how it fares in the handling
dept. Another car to consider, UR-S4, big comfy and fast, almost as
quick as my old MR2, but it can be a bigger dog to deal with in terms of
maintance, and its probably too big to Auto-X no? Audi 90 is another
fave of mine. With the 20v engine and some suspension mods would it be
ok for Auto-X? (PS This is going to be my daily driver too). And the
Audi 90 would be the same as far as the maintenence issue with S4's
right? Another one would be the A4, bit more expensive, couldn't spend
as much money on it as a cheaper car... but its new.. and stiffer right?
Or how about a URQ? Its way cheaper, I can spend much more money
modifying it, and possibly another car for a daily driver POSSIBLY.
Another option, a AWD Talon Turbo... hrmmm or Civic SIR the one with the
160hp engine.... opinions?

IF you feel it clutters the list, just reply privatly. Thanks for your
time!

Carl
