...namely, on the way home, driving through Mamaroneck/Harrison, I
notice the 5-series in front of me looks like it has tires that are
just a liiiitle bit wider than normal, and hmm, that exhaust pipe
looks a liiiiittle bigger than the standard twin-pipe exhaust. We
pull up to the stoplight and I get a very good look at a red, blue
and silver...yes....m5, badge.

Now boys and girls, can you say "greeeey market?"(this is the -old-
M5, ie, the one in Ronin)

Before you all go screaming "badge engineering!", let me point out
that this particular section I was driving through has 1M+ houses and
run of the mill traffic I end up behind includes almost every
Mercedes imaginable. This ain't the kind of crowd that does that
sort of thing :-)

I've seen one other, and that was in Boston; a red one, being driven
by a young fellow who just had a look about him that said, "Hi, I'm a
prick!"

I've also seen, in less than one hour, two NEW M5's, on Newbury
Street in Boston....yeesh.
